It was definetly better today than the last few weeks we've practiced. That or we're just getting better and mitigating the effects of this South Florida Sun.
Today I was looking forward to killing Hotshots since I see them as a direct obstacle to the team. They're better laners, they're good at holding zones, overall a defensive team but good at what they do. They don't make big mistakes.
On Friday something snapped in me and all I could think about was bonusballing them. I know it's bad, but that's all I could think about it. I have nothing against the guys on the team personally, but I just had it in my head that I wanted to kill them. I couldn't keep that mental momentum all weekend like I did on Friday. I think if I played on Friday then I would've been the MVP for that week since my mind was really into it. But it didn't happen. I did well today. I decided to take bigger aggressive risks. I payed for a lot of them, but I had fun and I tried new things. I was playing a front role more today. I was pushing up the doritos pretty well. Elier and I got too greedy today. Easy fix though.
Rob was having trouble with his gunfights today. He couldn't get small enough sometimes and was pinched out. In all fairness though he was usually the last guy getting overrun.
Elier wasn't putting his mirror in before making moves and he'd run into a line of paint.
I was just too damn greedy and wanted to shoot everything on the field. I have some nice welts that show that I've been humbled a bit. Just a bit.
Our lanes and Run and Gunning still needs a lot of work. But we've started to open up how we look at the field now.
We made a lot of friends today. More importantly we earned some respect. We've played against Defiance players for awhile now. Well actually since day one as a team we've played against them. So they know our level and one of thier players "Chino" actually said that we've really come far in a short period, we've gone from "being beginners to being serious D4 ballers." Even Hotshots was impressed with us and told us we're really on the right path and doing really well for a team that has no tournament experience, and only a few months of having any team experience.
I'm happy with today. I never knew how much respect meant until you actually earned it.
